New NCCU Freshmen began the Week of Welcome 2009 (WOW) on Wednesday, August 12 by attending a program called "Training Day" sponsored by NCCUSGA. The night featured members of NCCU dance teams, performances by members of Greek Life, a performance by the NCCU Marching Sound Machine (pictured to the left), and much more!Later in the week, students attended different Academic Engagement sessions depending on their major where they learned best practices and skills needed to be successful in their chosen academic program. Friday evening then featured a movie night in B.N. Duke Auditorium!
On Saturday, students had the chance to attend a Block Party on Brant Street and a night of fun at a dance in the Alfonso Elder Student Union.
Sunday wrapped up the WOW 2009 activities with the "A Salute to New Eagles" Pinning Ceremony where students received a set of new Eagle wings NCCU faculty, staff, alumni, and student leaders.New freshmen and transfer students....You are officially Eagles. It's a new year and a time for you to learn independence!
